The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Posted by admin December - 23 - 2014 - Tuesday

WOW!!! I love Christmas time. Riding around the neighborhoods, looking at all of the decorations brings a sense of peace to my heart that I don’t find at any other time of the year. It allows me to focus on the “Reason for the season” and forget the problems that our world faces during these trying times.

I encourage each of you to make some time to escape the hustle and bustle that can exhaust us during this holiday and just…. relax! I like to turn off the lights (except for the Christmas tree) and put on some Christmas music; sit in front of the fireplace; roast some chestnuts on an open fire… NO, not really! But I love that song! There, I just spend some time in reflection of all of the wonderful blessings that God has provided me this past year. I even let my mind wander to what He has in store for me in 2015.

My pastor and I had lunch yesterday. He shared with me the gist of his Christmas Eve message that he’ll present tomorrow. He’s going to talk about the 3 wise men. Upon seeing the Star of Bethlehem in the eastern sky, they recognized it as the indicator that the Messiah, Jesus, was born… and they were filled with great joy. Here is the word for us: as we travel life’s path, enjoy the journey! Don’t live in anticipation that you’ll only find joy when you accomplish a task. Be wise, like the Wise Men, and find joy IN the journey.

Merry Christmas to all of my “Little Things” friends!!!
